The introduction of the Feed in Tariff has provided a significant opportunity for landowners and farmers. Due to the associate economies of scale due to larger projects often being possible and an increasing likelihood of an existing 3 phase grid connection point, the scale benefits for agricultural and rural projects are often larger than domestic properties.

A south-facing building with a roof pitch of between 30-40° is ideal.  However anything between south-east and south-west or with a shallower pitch will still give at least 95% of peak performance. Alternatively,  a ground mounted array can be a better option where suitable roof space is limited or access is a problem.

With experience in retrofit installations on barn roofs with portal frames of up to 6 metres and large ground-mounted arrays, Ardenham Energy is the leading solar system installation specialist for the agricultural and land market sector.
