Public Sector

Public sector bodies such as schools, local authorities, housing associations and charitable organisations can apply for grants of up to 50% of the installation costs of an approved microgeneration technology under Phase 2 of the Low Carbon Buildings Programme.

To obtain a Phase 2 grant you need to have a contract with one of the appointed Framework Suppliers. Ardenham Energy is a registered installer with British Gas for installations of solar PV and wind turbines. Additionally some community based public sector organisations may be eligible to match this funding via the Community Sustainable Energy Programme. For more information, see our grants page.

Schools

Solar PV and wind are ideally suited to schools because as well as the obvious environmental benefits, there are also educational benefits. It provides a great opportunity to raise an awareness of environmental issues with the next generation and links into many areas of the National Curriculum.

Ardenham Energy will install a display unit to show the current output of the system, the cumulative generation since the system was installed and the associated carbon dioxide savings. For more information, see our Solar for Schools page.

Councils

Councils can take a lead on promoting sustainability in their communities. Many councils are installing renewable technology on properties within their jurisdiction to reduce their emissions, learn about the technology and to demonstrate leadership by example. Most council properties are suitable for some type of renewable technology, and Ardenham can help p identify and develop the project.

Housing Associations

Help your tenants cope with rising fuel bills by using solar PV or wind for electricity, solar thermal for hot water heating and heat pumps for space heating. Ardenham Energy can arrange work to be carried out in conjunction with your scheduled maintenance to keep costs to a minimum.
