  • Despite losing a week to the snow at the begining of the new year, Ardenham commision their first Daikin Altherma High Temperature air source heat pump system, install domestic PV systems in Northampton and Heath & Reach and start the installation of 11 in-roof PV arrays on a new-build housing development in Norwich.
  • Due to an ever-expanding order book, Ardenham are again looking to add to their installation team and are looking for competent PV installers to join the company.

Previous experience in similar work is desirable, but comparable and migratable skills/competences/experience in a construction environment will be given careful review.

December 2009

  • Shadepower Performance Optimisation for solar photovoltaic systems in less than optimal locations is launched by Ardenham Energy. For further details, please click here.
  • Ardenham Energy finish the year with PV installations on another two schools.The first was a 7.2kWp array at Howard Primary School in Croydon and the second a 5.2kWp CSEP funded installation on their doorstep at Linslade Lower School in Leighton Buzzard.

November 2009

  • Ardenham Energy complete the installation of another two Community Sustainable Energy Programme funded jobs in November; a 20kWp solar PV array at St James' United Reform Church in Buckhurst hill and a 6.8 kWp solar PV array at Great Missenden C of E school in Buckinghamshire.
  • Also completed in November were domestic installations in Kent, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and the roof work on a 20kWp array at Berger Primary School in Hackney.

October 2009

  • The announcement of the Feed-In Tariff has lead to an increase in the domestic market and Ardenham Energy have a very busy month completing installations in Oswestry, Boars Hill, Enstone, Stoke Mandeville, and Eaton Bray. The company also completed the installation of a 2.5kW wind turbine, solar hot water and PV array at Whitings Hill Primary School in London.

September 2009

  • Ardenham Energy are lookng to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated person(s) to work in our project installation team. The projects are predominantly solar PV, but from time to time will also include wind turbines, solar thermal, and heat pumps.

July 2009

  • On the 15th July the Government announced the details of its proposals for the long-awaited Feed In Tariff. The main points of this are:
    • Domestic installations are still eligible for a £2500 LCBP grant with the scheme now extended until April 2011.
    • Installations must be carried out by an MCS-approved installer. All accredited installs from July 2009 onwards will be eligible.
    • Guaranteed 25 year tariff lifetime.
    • Tariff for <4kW retro-fit PV installs will be 36.5p/unit (in first year)
    • Tariff for <4kW new build PV installs will be 31p/unit (in first year)
    • The tariff for new installs will reduce by 7% each year. The rate given in the first year of install will continue for the lifetime of the tariff.
    • There will be a fixed price for electricity export of 5p/unit.

June 2009

  • Ardenham Energy continue to grow and have opened a regional office in Wales with a dedicated local sales and installation team, For contact details, please see the link to Welsh Office on the homepage.
  • Ardenham Energy are awarded MCS certification for the design, supply and installation of heat pump systems. The company is now an approved installer for all of the major renewable energy technologies.
  • Ardenham have helped Great Missenden Church of England church and Blaxhall YHA to win grants under the Community Sustainable Energy Programme for solar electricity installations.
  • Ardenham Energy install and commission a 6kW Proven wind turbine at Eastchurch Primary School on the Isle of Sheppey.
  • Ardenham Energy install a 8kWp solar PV array at Mascalls school in Kent and begin the groundworks for a Proven 2.5kW turbine.
  • A 10.2kWp solar PV array was installed and commissioned at Chipping Norton Lido by Ardenham Energy.

 

May 2009

  • Ardenham Energy have installed and commissioned a 30 kWp PV array on the main Engineering and Technology Building at The City  University in London. The project using Sharp Polycrystalline solar technology took 10 days to complete and will provide in excess of 25,000 kWh to the University each year.The project was funded by a Low Carbon Building Programme phase 2, a Community Sustainable Energy  Programme grant, and University funds.

April 2009

  • Ardenham Energy have installed two solar PV arrays, one roof-mounted and the other ground-mounted at the headquarters of The Northmoor Trust at Little Wittenham in Oxfordshire. To read more about this project, please click here.

March 2009

  • Ardenham Energy have helped secure National Lottery funding for a further 5 community organisations under the Community Sustainable energy Programme. To view the press release, please click here.

  • Ardenham Energy are again looking to recruit installers thanks to an increasing number of large-scale projects. The role would suit those with general construction M&E experience and/or roofing experience.   • Groundworks have begun at the RSPB site in Rainham Marshes where Ardenham Energy are installing a 15kW Proven wind turbine. The turbine will be erected and commisioned in April. Check back for further information and photos.

February 2009

  • Ardenham Energy install 11 Stealthgen D400 wind turbines and solar hot water systems on a  new build development in Croydon. Further details and photos will appear once the systems are comissioned.
  • February also saw Ardenham install a 10kWp solar electricity system at Faringdon Junior School in Oxfordshire, a 7.2kWp system for St Nicholas School in New Romney, Kent and a 1.2kWp domestic installation in Berkhampstead.

January 2009

  • Ardenham Energy kick off what promises to be a very busy year by commissioning an 11kWp PV array on the roof of the West Berkshire Council building in Newbury. The installation is featured on the New Energy Focus website.   To see the case study, please click here.
  • Opening ceremonies for the PV arrays installed at Mary Bassett School in Leighton Buzzard and St Leonard's School in Heath & Reach are featured on the Leighton Buzzard Online website.
  • The Bishop of Bedford, Richard Inwood and South West Beds MP Andrew Selous attended the opening ceremony at St Leonards and Mr Selous also officially opened the system at Mary Bassett School.

December 2008

Ardenham help another 4 community organisations secure funding from the Community Sustainable Energy Programme for solar PV and wind turbine installations. The groups to benefit are Chipping Norton Lido, Gillespie School in Islington, Eastchurch Primary school in Kent and St James' United Reform Church in Essex. For more details click here.

Ardenham Energy install a 10.2kWp PV array at St Leonards School in Heath & Reach, a 2.72kWp PV array for Archway Methodist Church in London and complete the installation of a 38kW ground source heat pump near Chippenham in Wiltshire.

November 2008

Ardenham Energy have their busiest ever month, installing almost 50kWp of PV in the month!

Flitton and Greenfield Carbon Challenge group in Bedfordshire have been granted an EEDA Cut your Carbon grant for their school solar energy project. Community action is the main focus of the Cut your Carbon campaign, so it is exceptional for a school to be funded. The judges were particularly impressed with the level of community involvement in the project and felt the wider benefits the community will receive made the project worth funding.  Ardenham Energy will install the 9 kwp grid tied system with Sharp Mono crystalline panels. 10 kWp PV Aylesbury Town Council
Ardenham Energy has just completed the largest solar PV array in Aylesbury, a 10kWp array on the roof of Aylesbury Town Council. For more details, click here.

REA backs ad campaign for Feed-In Tariff
The Renewable Energy Association (REA), alongside Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace, are calling for a feed-in tariff for smaller scale renewable heat and power, to work alongside the renewable obligation. FOE and Greenpeace launched their campaign with full page adverts in the Times the Independent and the Guardian, to highlight how badly the UK performs on renewables compared to Germany, where a feed-in tariff is the “cornerstone” of its green energy policy.

2.4kWp domestic Installation, Marlow
Ardenham Energy has installed a 2.4kWp PV array on a domestic property in Marlow. The system comprised 12 Sunpower 205 panels and a Fronius IG20 inverter. The system will generate in excess of 2000kWh per year.

e-ROC AUCTION OF RENEWABLE OBLIGATION CERTIFICATES - 10 APRIL 2008
The latest e-ROC Auction of Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) was completed today, April 2008, with just over 83,000 (none of which were co-fired ROCs) being purchased.
The average price was £51.39. (The average price in the last auction held in January was £49.95).

7kWp PV array, Factory Community Centre, Islington
Ardenham Energy completed the installation of a 7kWp array on the roof of the Factory Community Centre in Islington. 44 Sharp 162 panels and 2 SMA 3300 inverters were used in the system.
